Lituaniatik New Yorkera joandako judu ortodoxoen semea. 1904ko urtarrilaren 23an jaio zen. Harreman estua izan zuen Ezra Pound eta William Carlos Williamsekin. Objektibismoaren sortzaile, berritasun handia ekarri zion AEBetako poesiari. Zukofskyren lanik ezagunena «A» poema luzea izan zen, 1927an hasi eta bere bizi osoan ontzen jardun zuena. 1978ko maiatzaren 12an hil zen. Erreferentzia ezkutu ugari daude Zukofskyren poemetan; adibidez, sail honetako azkenekoa: Shakespeare-ren The Two Gentlemen of Veronako esaldi baten errekreazioa da (IV, iv, 199).
